Go UTES!!

As most folks in Utah know, the U of U football team beat BYU last week in a crushing 48-24 victory. Having season tickets in the MUSS, my little bro David and I were at the game. We missed having Courtney and Jenny with us, but welcomed the company of Dad and my friend Tammie. Filled with greasy stadium hot dogs, hot chocolate, and plenty of Utah interceptions and touchdowns, our night was a blast! I can't wait to find out what BCS Bowl game we get into. I'm really hoping to get tickets!!

Check out a few pics after the game....

Visitors at the hospital about an hour after he was born.
Wasn't it nice that the girls coordinated their outfits?! :)

Wisconsin - August 2008

In August we visited my sister Jenny's mission in Wisconsin.
It was a blast! Here are a few pics:

Our sweet rental car with the typical red barn
and grain silos in the background.

Bluegrass band after dinner with the Koenigs.
Sister Morris, Jenny and Sam on vocals.

My first crack at bratwurst...with sauerkraut! Tastes better than it looks.
At the Packers tailgate party at the Brett Favre Steakhouse.

The fam at the game. Go Packers!!!

Wisconsin Supreme Court in the State Capitol Building. Sweet!

Ella's Deli with the Nigh's and the Pink's.

Look at all this corn! Three rows back
and we were out of view.

We got to do a session at the Nauvoo Temple.
It was really neat.

The church building (a converted office building) in Prairie du Chien.
The branch just purchased land to build a real church building next Spring!

With Meagan Fitzner riding her horses. I'd really like to
have my own some day. I love it!

The Great White Hunter

Dad Gill went on a hunting trip to Alaska last
month and came home with four bears and the
biggest king salmon we'd ever seen! His kills
were so big, they made the cover of the summer
edition of Sportsmen's Voice. Go Dad!

The First One

There are a lot of firsts in life. First date, first car, first kiss... This is my first blog. And my first blog post. I consider it a monumental event, mainly, because it represents the fact that I've given in. I've finally succumbed to the ever-increasing online community that seems to be swallowing everyone I know.

I'd like to thank my sister Mary for my first real introduction to blogs. And then I'd have to thank a great group of my high school girlfriends who decided to share blogs with each other. I was one of the few who didn't have a blog. That was several months ago, and now here we are.

With that said, I'll go ahead and post a few pics of another first - my first niece, Haley, of whom I just can't get enough. Love that little girl!

This is Haley with her favorite Christmas present - two chapsticks from Grandma. Oh, the simple joys of childhood!

This is Haley wearing my favorite green coat from when I was little girl!
